Overview

The Summer Catch-Up Programme 2024 aims in helping students who may need extra help with their studies and those who wish to revise and feel more comfortable and at ease at school. The programme is intended for learners in Years 1 to 10 and is open for all students.
The Catch-up classes will see to provide revision of work done during the previous scholastic year and is being taught by fully qualified teachers to all students of both primary and secondary level in small year groups. The programme shall be running for eight weeks between July 15th and September 5th on a four-day week.

What you'll get

  • The programme will run from Mondays to Thursdays for eight weeks from the 15th of July 2024 until the 5th of September 2024. 
  • Primary Centres are open from 9:00 till 12:00 (noon). 
  • Secondary Centres are open from 8:45 till 12:30. 
  • There are eight in-persons centres: 

    1. Marsascala Primary School for students from Year 1 to Year 6 

    2. Paola Primary School for students from Year 1 to Year 6 

    3. Birkirkara Primary School for students from Year 1 to Year 6 

    4. Mosta Primary School for students from Year 1 to Year 6 

    5. Rabat Gozo Primary School for students from Year 1 to Year 6 

    6. St. Lucia Secondary School for students from Year 7 to Year 10 

    7. Mriehel Secondary School for students from Year 7 to Year 10 

    8. Mosta Secondary School for students from Year 7 to Year 10

  • There are also two Virtual (online) Centres: 

    1. Virtual Primary School for students from Year 1 to Year 6 

    2. Virtual Secondary School for students from Year 7 to Year 10 

  • All teachers are fully qualified teachers in possession of a teaching warrant. 
  • During the Catch-Up classes students benefit from learning Maths, Maltese, English, Science, Physics, ICT, PE and Art. 
  • Applications are on first come first served basis. 
  • When classes are full, new applicants will be put on a waiting list, until they are contacted by the coordinator to start. 
  • The Catch-Up Classes are free of charge.

Eligibility

  • Students who need extra help or an extra push with their studies. 
  • All students across the Maltese islands from public, church and private schools are eligible to apply.
