Overview

Third-country nationals (employees) may request to be exempted from registering in Malta under the Social Security Act (Cap. 318.), as long as a state contribution is being paid in the home country.

What you'll get

The third-country nationals (employees) shall then receive an Exemption Certifcate from the Department of Social Security, with which they shall be exempted from paying Social Security Contributions in Malta.

Eligibility

The third-country nationals (employees) are to provide proof that they:

 

a. Have a valid single permit (residence and work), or have submitted an application to Identità Malta b. Are insured with a national institution in their third-country homeland.
