What you'll get
A Maltese Nautical Licence issued under the Laws of Malta valid for vessels under 24m LOA.
Eligibility
The applicant must have completed and successfully sat for the relevant exam or is in possession of a Marine qualification that is considered as equivalent or higher, be over 18 years old, and have a Maltese residential address.
An eID account is required to fill in the online form.

Documents required
The attachments for the form are the below:
- Recent colour passport size photograph (Automatically retrieved from e-ID).
New Nautical Licence
- Medical fitness certificate to be completed by an approved GP.
- Completion certificate duly signed by the examiner.
Nautical Licence Renewal
- Medical fitness certificate to be completed by an approved GP.
- Copy of expired nautical licence.
Nautical Licence Re-Issue
- In case of a lost/stolen licence card, a police report or a signed affidavit is required.
- In case of a damaged licence card, the damaged licence card must be returned.
- In case of changes in details of the licence card older proof of updated identity card document shall be presented.
