To operate an English as a Foreign Language School (ELT) in Malta, a licence to operate by the ELT Council must be obtained.English Language Teaching (ELT) sector in Malta is regulated in terms of L.N. 221 of 2015.

How to apply

Fill in the online form and submit.

Required documents:

i) As per Clause 3, submit a Business Plan covering the first 3 years of operation.
ii) As per Clause A4.0, submit a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association/Statute.
iii) As per Clause A6.0, submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae of the Head of School including ID number and references, if applicable, to any enquire or disciplinary action by any court, authority, regulatory or professional body.
iv) As per Clause A8.0, submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae of the Administrator including ID number and references, if applicable to any enquire or disciplinary action by any court, authority, regulatory or professional body.
v) As per Clause B2.0 submit a detailed Architect’s drawing of the proposed school together with the details listed in the table found in aforementioned Clause B2.0.
vi) As per Clause C6.1 submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae of the Director of Studies including references, if applicable, to any enquire or disciplinary action by any court, authority, regulatory or professional body.
vii) As per Clause D8.1, submit 2 letters of intent from its distribution/sales network in support of this application.
viii) As per Clause D8.2, submit a draft sample of any promotional material.
