Overview

The Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation is committed to continuing to foster a healthier lifestyle among Maltese and Gozitan youth, while recognising the need to promote physical activity and wellbeing. For this purpose, the Ministry will be re-launching the Youth Physical Activity Support Scheme.

This initiative is now valid for young people born between 2004 and 2009, as long as they have not already benefited from the scheme this year. It offers them six months of free membership, which can be redeemed as a six-month gym subscription. The system is aligned with national priorities for the promotion of health and youth development, aiming to create a culture of health awareness among young people, while over time reducing public health expenses.

What you'll get

Through the YFSS, you will be eligible to have your initial membership fees covered.

Key features of the scheme are:

•    Coverage of the first six months of gym membership.
•    Collaboration with registered gyms across Malta and Gozo to ensure accessibility.
•    A simplified online application and verification process through a dedicated platform.
