The eID, or electronic identity, is a trusted authentication mechanism for citizens and businesses to identify themselves to electronically access services from across government. You must have an eID to use eGovernment Services.

Any Maltese citizen or eResidence document holder who is over 14 years of age.
Maltese Citizens:
You may request your eID by calling on 25904300 or sending a request by email on [email protected]
eResidence Document Holders:
Visit one of the eID Registration Offices in Blata l-Bajda or in Rabat (Gozo). Presentation of one's residence document and an email account are required to apply for an eID account.
Malta (Identity Management Office, Gattard House, National Road Blata l-Bajda, Malta)
- Monday to Friday: 7.30 am to 2 pm
- Wednesday: 7.30 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm
- Saturday: 7.30 am to 11 am
Rabat, Gozo (St. Francis Square, Rabat, Gozo - same Office as Passports)
- Monday to Friday: 7.30 am to 2 pm
- Wednesday: 7.30 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm
- Saturday: 7.30 am to 11 am
