Overview

A couple may enter a public deed wherein the parties declare themselves as being in a state of cohabitation. The public deed must be signed before a Notary Public and registered within the Public Registry’s Searches Unit. A Cohabitation Certificate may then be ordered online or collected from the Malta Public Registry, Marsa or the Gozo Public Registry, Victoria.

How to apply

A Cohabitation certificate may be ordered online or collected from the Malta Public Registry Offices in Onda Building, Aldo Moro Road, Marsa, MRS 9065, or the Gozo Public Registry, By the Bastion Road, Victoria, Gozo. A Cohabitation certificate costs €9.95 if ordered online or €10.25 if collected in person from the Malta Public Registry or the Gozo Public Registry.
