Transfer Notice for Small Ship Ownership

Overview

Individual or company wanting to transfer the ownership of a small ship onto third parties. The transfer can apply to a small ship without engine, small ship with engine, or engine/s only onto an other S registered boat.

What you'll get

A new certificate/s denoting transfer of ownership of a small ship, small ship with engine, or engine only.

Eligibility

The seller/current owner of the small ship and buyer. The buyer must be 18 years old at the time of transfer.

How to apply

Print and fill in the form and send to:

Ports and Yachting Directorate

Lija LJA 2021

Required documents:
i) A valid third party liability Insurance Policy certificate (for small ships with engine/s of 10 HP or more) in the name of the purchaser.
ii) Last original Certificate of Registry of the small ship issued by Transport Malta.
iii) Copies of valid ID Cards, passport of seller, buyer and witness (front and back).
iv) If the small ship is registered or is to be registered on a company/organisation, a signed declaration/resolution by its Director/s and documents attesting the power of such Director/s (e.g. Memorandum & Articles of Association, Statute, etc).
