Assignment of Manufacturing Identification Code (MIC)

Overview

Applicable to companies or individuals intending to engage in the construction and manufacture of pleasure craft with a maximum length of 24 metres.

What you'll get

Assignment for MIC applicable to local boat manufacturers of pleasure craft up to 24 metres.  It is the unique number assigned by an authorised boat builder to identify a boat or vessel when manufactured.
This code becomes part of the Hull Identification Number (HIN) or Craft Identification Number (CIN) that appears on each vessel built.
 

Eligibility

  • Individual who intends to apply for this assignment must at least be 18 years of age.

 

  • Companies intending to apply for this assignment must be authorised to provide such services, and this authorisation should be reflected in their respective Memorandum and Articles of Association.

 

  • Individual must be Maltese citizen or Citizen of an EU member state, EEA, or UK. 

 

  • The applicant, whether an individual or a company, must have a registered residential address in Malta or, alternatively, appoint a duly authorised local representative
