Title Bunkering Operator Permit

Overview

Applicable to companies or individuals intending to commence bunkering operations, whether conducted on land or at sea within Maltese Territorial Waters up to 12NM.

Permit to provide Bunkering services through vessels or Marine Terminals both via Land and at Sea within Maltese Territorial Waters up to 12NM

Eligibility

  •  Individual who intends to operate the vessel must at least be 18 years of age.

 

  • Companies intending to conduct bunkering operations and whose activities are permitted under their respective Memorandum and Articles of Association.

 

  •  Individual must be Maltese citizen or Citizen of an EU member state, EEA, or UK. 

 

  •   The applicant, whether an individual or a company, must have a registered residential address in Malta or, alternatively, appoint a duly authorised local representative

 

  • The respective vessel, craft, or equipment must be certified as fit for purpose by a Government-Appointed Surveyor and subsequently certified commercially by the Authority.

 

  •  Have obtained all necessary verifications and permits from other entities mainly the Regulator for Energy and Water Services (REWS).

•    Review the submission of application form and the mandatory documentation.
•    Receive acknowledgement of successful submission.
