Overview

The MySkills Scheme supports the upskilling and reskilling of Individuals of working age and beyond. Participants (excluding self-employed persons) may follow any of the training programmes listed on the MySkills Course Catalogue and, upon successful completion of the training, can recover up to €5,000 of the training costs per application.


The Scheme is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) under the Training for Employment Project (ESF+.01.195), and is subject to the de minimis Regulation (EU 2023/2831) where applicable.
 

What you'll get

Individuals will acquire new skills or upgrade their current skills with the financial support received through this scheme.  

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be 15+ years old and legally residing in Malta.
  • Open to employed, unemployed, and inactive individuals, provided eligibility requirements are met.
  • Working individuals aged 65+ are eligible, provided they remain employed during the training period.
  • Selected Training must be included in the MySkills Course Catalogue.
  • Training must be voluntary and not mandatory by law or employer requirement.
  • Minimum €100 (excluding VAT) and fully paid by the applicant.
  • Applications must be submitted by the last day of structured training (theoretical/classroom sessions).
     

How to apply

  • Verify that the selected Training Course is included in the MySkills Course Catalogue.

  • Ensure you have a copy of the course schedule and a receipt issued by the Training Provider showing partial or full payment.

  • Apply online by completing the Application for Individuals accessible through the MySkills Scheme webpage.

  • Make sure to provide all required information, including selecting the correct training course and upload supporting documentation to ensure a quick review.

  • Once the application is submitted, an acknowledgement email will be sent to the address provided during application.

  • Important: Applications must be submitted by the last day of structured training (theoretical/classroom sessions).

 

Documents Required:

  • Valid ID Card or Residence Permit (required for non-Maltese nationals)

  • School Leaving Certificate (if aged 15-16 years old)

  • Course Schedule (indicating all session dates)

  • Official Receipt/s confirming full or partial payment of the training course
