Overview
The National Nativity Cribs Competition, organised by the Culture Directorate, aims to promote, preserve and encourage the Maltese tradition of nativity crib making (il-presepju), an important expression of Malta’s cultural heritage. The competition gives individuals and groups an opportunity to showcase creativity, craftsmanship and artistic interpretations of the Nativity scene and supports the transmission of traditional skills. Entries are considered under the categories set out in the official competition regulations and assessed by an appointed adjudication panel.
