  • Bar Service Management Substitute Permit

    Persons who will act as a substitute in the absence of licencees and/or operators in a catering establishment, and will be responsible for the selling of wines and spirits, need to apply for this permit.
  • Hire of Umbrellas, Deck Chairs and Sunbeds

    This form is required by persons who would like to apply for a licence to hire umbrellas, deckchairs, sunbeds, etc.
  • Host Family Licence

    A scheme is in place to regulate the provision of accommodation for foreign students in the homes of Maltese residents. This scheme ensures that the service provided by host families is up to the required standard. This application is in terms of the Malta Travel and Tourism Services Act 1999.
  • Licence for a Catering Establishment

    Persons who would like to operate a catering establishment require a licence from the Malta Tourism Authority.
  • Licence for Holiday Furnished Premises

    Short lease of property as Holiday Furnished premises. Property includes studio flats, apartments, maisonettes, houses, villas and farmhouses.
  • Licence for the Promotion of Timeshare and/or Timeshare-Like Products

    A licence is required to market and promote timeshare in public areas.
  • Licence for Travel Operators or Excursion Operators

    The travel agency sector is regulated in order to ensure that the required standards are maintained. The Government also seeks to ensure that the services offered in this sector complement the official policy and strategy; offer services as an incoming, outgoing travel agency and operate as an excursion organiser or as a Destination Management Company.
  • Playing of Amplified Music in Tourism Establishments

    A permit is required to play amplified music in a bar or restaurant. A sound engineer report is required to confirm that soundproofing measures have been installed.
  • Recreational Dive Centre

    This licence is needed to operate a diving centre or diving school and to hire scuba equipment.

    Recreational diving services include:
    a) Training and education in recreational diving;
    b) Organised and guided diving for certified divers; and
    c) Rental of diving equipment.
  • Registering as a Tourist Guide

    The tourist guide sector in Malta is regulated in order to ensure that service providers possess the required qualification and relevant knowledge of the various sites as specified in L.N. 132 of 2002, thus ensuring that services offered to tourists are of the required standard.
