The Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) regulates the environmental impact of enterprises operating a service station as required by the Control of Volatile Organic Compound - VOC Emissions (Storage and Distribution of Petrol from Terminals to Service Stations) Regulations (S.L. 549.52) and The Environmental Permitting (Procedure for Applications and their Determination) Regulations (S.L 549.172). To this effect, such facilties require an operational permit from ERA as the competent authority for these regulations.

The extraction of minerals, recycling of construction and demolition waste and backfilling of excavation voids require an operational permit from the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA).

The Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) regulates the environmental impact of enterprises handling VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) solvents. To this effect such facilties require an operational permit from ERA as the regulator.

Farm rearing poultry or pigs falling within scope of the thresholds stipulated in Schedule 1 of the Industrial Emissions (IPPC) Regulations (S.L. 549.77) require an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit prior to operation.
