  • Persons with Disability Scheme (Scheme DIS): Grant to Render Residence Accessible

The aim of the Housing Authority is to give assistance to persons with a disability to render their residence adequate for their needs or to convert part of the existing premises so that the person with a disability lives an independent or semi independent manner close to the family.

This scheme provides that, prior to granting financial assistance, the Authority gives technical advice as regards the nature of adaptation works, which need to be carried out for the best benefit to the applicant or to the person with the disability.

  • Sonia Tanti Independent Living Centre

The Sonia Tanti Independent Living Centre (STILC) provides support, information and guidance to persons with disability and their families to lead an independent life within the community. Professional assessments are offered by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to enable persons with disability to achieve, maintain or regain their independence through the use of mobility equipment, wheelchair and seating solutions, and car adaptations.

  • Student Placements

Aġenzija Sapport provides placements which are practical and relevant to students from various academic institutions and programmes. The goal of such placements is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and experience to complement their studies in various fields. The Agency offers placements within most departments, whether administrative in office environments or on the frontline within the services, according to the requirements of the respective course.

  • Workshops and Support Groups - Aġenzija Sapport

When a child is diagnosed with a disability, the family goes through a rollercoaster of emotions. Families may also experience a sense of helplessness and lack of courage. Even though the needs of each family are individual, some queries and emotions are common amongst families who have a child with disability. Thus, Aġenzija Sapport developed a number of workshops and Support groups to support these families.

  • Workshops for Adult Siblings of Persons with Disability

The Sapport Family Support Unit organises workshops for siblings of persons with disabilities. These workshops include various topics that appeal to this audience.
