• Application - Monitoring (DSS)

  The primary objective of this service is to inform both beneficiaries and applicants about the status of their applications or benefits. This includes details on current and active benefits, as well as pending benefits that are under review and awaiting approval by the Department of Social Security over the past twelve (12) months.

• Banking Details (DSS)

  Through this service, you can change or update your Banking Details as held by the Department of Social Security of how you receive your benefits. If you are currently receiving benefit payments by cheque, you must change your details to start receiving payments by direct deposit in your bank account. If you are already receiving your payments by direct bank deposits, you may change both the bank as well as the account number (International Bank Account Number - IBAN).  

   

  You can also opt to receive a payment notification via SMS with the date when your benefit will be deposited. Through this service, you cannot change your banking details to start receiving cheque payments.

• Benefit Certification - Foreign Beneficiaries (DSS)

  If you are a social security beneficiary in receipt of a retirement pension, invalidity pension, or widow/er’s pension from the Department of Social Security of Malta and currently residing and being paid abroad, you can generate your benefit rate certificate online.

• Benefits Compliance Investigation Request (DSS)

  If you have reason to believe that a person may be committing a Social Security Benefit Fraud, you can report this breach to the Benefits Compliance Unit within the Income Support and Investigations Division. You may opt to make an anonymous report.

• Benefits Rates (DSS)

  You can view information about all the social security benefits rates provided by the Department of Social Security for visibility to the citizens, organised by clusters. The benefits rates information covers the last five (5) years, up through the end of the current year. The benefits rates are shown in chronological order and apply to both couples and single people.

• Blue Medical Certificate - Monitoring (DSS)

  This service shows blue medical certificates submitted to the Department of Social Security for the previous five (5) years. The blue medical certificates are listed according to year and presented chronologically.

  A blue medical certificate for a long-term sickness, may be submitted to the Department of Social Security every fourteen (14) days.

  A person is not required to submit a blue medical certificate to the Department of Social Security if the period of illness is three (3) days or less. Hence, a certificate of three (3) days or less will not be listed in this service.

• Blue Medical Certificate - Submit (DSS)

  A blue medical certificate must be completed by a medical practitioner and may be submitted online to the Department of Social Security within ten (10) days from the first (1st) day of sickness. The only exceptions accepted are due to hospitalisation or treatment abroad.

   

   

• Carers Allowance (DSS)

  The Carers Allowance may be awarded to a single, married, in civil union, or cohabiting person who is over eighteen (18) years of age and is taking care of a relative, with low dependency, on a full-time basis living within the same household.

• Children's Allowance Calculator - DSS

  This calculator is a tool that allows you to enter data to calculate an unofficial projection for the Children's Allowance. The Children's Allowance is paid to each family residing in Malta having children under full care and custody and who are under 16 years of age, or children up to 21 years that are students without stipend or registering for the first time. This calculator only works out the rates for children under 16 years of age.

• Documents - Submit (DSS)

  This service provides the facility to upload copies of documents requested in a Call Letter by the Department of Social Security.
