Transport and Communications

​Permission to operate a 'Vehicle Rental and Leasing Services' for the hiring and leasing of motor vehicles. The Authority for Transport in Malta will not issue permits on garages with an area of less than 24m². For a chauffeur driven permit the area must not be less than 24m², while for a self-driven permit the area must not be less than 48m².

Public Service Garage permit.

Applicant must be 18 years of age or over with a clean Police conduct.

Fill in the online form and submit.

The following documents are to submitted:
i) VAT certificate.
ii) A recent Police conduct.
iii) Planning Authority (PA) permit.
iv) Detailed plan of garage certified and stamped by the architect showing the measurements in square metres.
v) Commercial rental value.
vi) Certificate by installer regarding fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in garage.
vii) Application fee of €20.
