    A legal requirement for establishments falling within the scope of L.N. 179 of 2015. The operator of such an establishment has to send the notification to the COMAH Competent Authority.

  • Construction Notification

    The client for whom construction works are to be carried out is to appoint a Project Supervisor as per Article 3(1) of LN 88 of 2018. The Project Supervisor is duly bound to send a notification to the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) as per Article 5 of same legislation when work is scheduled to last longer than 30 working days, and on which more than 20 workers are occupied simultaneously, or on which the volume of work is scheduled to exceed five hundred person-days.
  • Ergonomics... Adapting Work Practice to the Worker Course

    This course (duration 4hrs) is intended to raise awareness about the subject and shall not replace an employer’s legal obligation to provide training to her/his employees in terms of Act XXVII of 2000.
  • First Aid and Safety at Work Course

    'An employer shall ensure the presence at all times of such a number of first aiders as is adequate and appropriate in the circumstances for rendering first aid to his employees if they are injured or become ill at work.'

    Reg.5. (1) L.N. 11, 2002. Extract: Work Place (First Aid) Regulations, 2002 - ( Act XXVII, 2000 – Cap 424).
  • Health and Safety in the Construction Sector Course

    'Without prejudice to the generality of the preceding sub-article (2), it shall be the duty of an employer to provide such information, instruction, training and supervision as is required to ensure occupational health and safety.'

  • Manual Handling Course

    This course is intended to raise awareness about the subject and shall not replace an employer’s legal obligation to provide training to her/his employees in terms of Act XXVII of 2000.
  • Notification by Employers for the Removal of Asbestos

    A legal requirement falling within the scope of L.N. 323 of 2006. An employer has to notify OHSA where there exist high risks to workers from exposure to asbestos/asbestos containing material at the workplace and no work involving asbestos or of material containing asbestos may commence before OHSA is thus notified.
  • Notification by Employers of an Accident at the Workplace

    A legal requirement falling within the scope of L.N. 52 of 1986. The employer has to notify the Authority regarding an accident at the workplace within 10 working days.

    In terms of this Legal Notice, any accident arising out of or in connection with work which results either - (a) in the death of ore major injury to any person; or (b) in the case of an employee at work, in that employee being incapacitated for work for more than 3 consecutive days, excluding those days on which s/he is not expected to report for work; shall be a notifiable accident and as such shall be reported to OHSA. Also the employer shall notify of other injury which results in the person injured being detained in hospital for more than twenty-fours hours other than for observation.

    Where the notifiable accident results in the death or a major injury to a person, the employer shall -
    (i) notify forthwith OHSA by the quickest practicable means; and (ii) within 7 days from the date of the accidentsend written notice of the accident to OHSA.
